The first half of the JAPAN FASHION WEEK was finished

When a cherry tree begins to bloom, there is the day we I say "HANABIE"
when temperature falls down. I think that we call "HANABIE" is an expression peculiar to Japan

However, the show placeis filled with heat and overflows and may totally stream down the change in the season of the fashion world more precisely than the flower

I myself watched the shows of the Paris collection many times, When I watch collection of designers at JFW, basic of Japanese way of making Fashion Design is based on this point.
Japanese used to change and arrange the essence of the good thing of overseas into Japanese style and create better things than the original.

It can be common to many Japanese products
For example, cars : foreign car is much more cool than Japanese car, hoever, once when you dreve Japanse car people suddrenly realize and be shocked with its splended quality.

The suspension that absorbs any kind of rumble, While having displacement volume same as an imported car but it has a good point of the marked mileage
The obedient steering that is not understeering in the oversteer either
The quietness characteristics of the inside of car as if an engine stops
It makes feel us that this is a car but it should belong tothe another category.

Japanese make clothes as a thing united with not only the sense called the upper garment but also a part of body itself.

In diversifying environment, it is detonated by contact in contents industry surrounding Japan, and young fashion designers evolve surely

The main is Tokyo Midtown, there is a very unique shop there where we can smell something Japanese.

This season's theme of matohu is "Kabukimono". The presentation is performed on the square floor. The collections are mostly made by black-based various materials like woven cloths, knitted cloths, leathers and furs. Usages of a big pendant or asymmetry furs on the collars add elegant tastes of "Kabukimono" on the designs.

The run way is covered with dyed curtain-like cloths on the floor and lighted with nostalgic homey orange pendant lamps. With the sound of 70's American pops, their colorful collections come on the stage one after another. Including models of a child and an elder woman, the show give you a fun and happy feeling as their theme "Joy" represented. This season's their trademark is double hearts & allow.

A long run way in the basement parking lot. All models are wearing crowns of thorns and hiding their faces with masks, which were made in collaboration with "smash" of Asahi Kasei. Their theme of this season is "Rebellious period of mintdesigns". So, maybe the hiding faces express their rebelliousness? The collections are combination of pants, one-piece and jackets etc. Glossy materials printed with monotone patterns are mainly used for them.

"SHINMAI Creator's Project", which was designed to be a stepping-stone for talented young designers, was kick-started with introduction by a brand-new humanoid robot. This robot was created in AIST (National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology) being modeled on 20yrs old girl with 158cm height and 43kg weight. She can express human-like emotions. Five brands were selected from 52 brands (60 designers) from 34 schools in 17 countries this year, and SACHIO KAWASAKI was the last presenter of this show. His theme is "Wave of Light". Adjusting the patterns of flat surface to the 3-D body; his design is a fusion of two polar forms.

The theme is "TANGLED". Threads are tangled to make clothes, and untangled to expand… this is what he expressed. The collections are in the white boxes (space) hanging from the ceiling and these boxes are connected to each other with threads and cords. The images are projected on the wall. The tulle lace dress in the center uses antique laces on the neckline and frills of silk and wild silk are attached at the bottom with a leather piping. Other items are also mainly black, the basic-color. The natural materials such as silks, cottons, and piece-dyed moutons are used. The buttons by buffalo, shawls by kids mohair; you can see his passion for natural materials.
