Introduction

JAPAN FASHION PRODUCT ORGANIZATION was established July the first 2008.
It is a new organization constituted with sewing factories, the textile makers which have the superior technology and the Japanese top-class high technique skills and quality.
Speaking of the back ground members are 23 companies and which support 28 new generation creators, fashion designers attracted in the Japanese fashion scene and produce the garments made in Japan to the world.

Greeting from Chief Director

I'm honor to introduce myself to you,
My name is Shigeki Okada the representative of JAPAN FASHION PRODUCT ORGANIZATION (JAPAN-FPO). After passing through the president of Junko Shimada and I acted as the chairman of CFD to organize JAPAN FASHION WEEK (JFW), TOKYO FASHON WEEK.As above I established a new organization which spread a superior Japanese fashion product in the world.

What the Japanese products attract the most is that they care about details and the products are well organized.Japanese textile and sewing companies continuously dedicate to work to raise quality and to make high quality products.Furthermore, many of young Japanese designers graduate from schools of London or Antwerp these days and they have the abilities to suite for the global creation field.

The Japanese let the Fashion products to fuse with traditional culture and technology like "Bushido", "Kado"(flower arrangement), "Sado"(tea ceremony) by pursuing a spirituality."motion in harmony of the eternity" and "movement in stillness" are what we are proud of Japanese culture to the world.

By collaborating traditional manufacturing and new generation creators, a new type of fashion products are being produced.

In a period of the economical crisis, we think of a value of a product itself.

This mail-magazine will report you followings what you can hardly get to know only by having visited Japan for a few days from the foreign countries;

In a period of Tokyo Fashion Week, we will edit the introductions of the designers and exhibition information.
Beside the collection seasons, we will report more about technical information as popular fashion products, textile and sewing skills in Japan.

The words from the chief editor

We start JAPAN-FASHION PRODUCT News as of March 3rd, 2009.
March 3rd is a festival day to follow more than 1,000 years called "the Doll Festival" in Japan.
We Japanese display the noble dolls and tool of the Imperial Court of the ancient times, and it is a day to celebrate the growth of the girls.

In Japan, there is the clear division of four seasons, and there are a typhoon and an earthquake, a volcanic activity.
Therefore I think the Japanese culture is consisted these nature activities.
In "Kado", basic idea is based on the scalene triangle as "the truth, adding, a reserve", and or the artistic arrangement entitles to make look as close as to their ideal natural state as possible. Then, a lot of asymmetry is seen in the design of the modern skirts.The Japanese garden takes landscape of nature and symbolizes deep mountains or a deep valley.Classic prints and nature-like decorations are used in designs. On purposely, we show the color of clay on potteries, sometimes change the shapes. We even use pieces from broken potteries to create a product. I can say that the damage processing of Jeans was influenced by such a tradition.Creations and products are made on these Japanese traditional culture and spirituality.
In this global economical crisis, attitudes of Japanese, which focus and specialize on a real quality of a product, are being attracted world's attention.
