When I arrived, there had been a line of people waiting to enter.

Coincidently, I met Ms. Morishige who is a press for this collection.

When I got to 7th floor, the setting had been ongoing.

This collection was totally opposite which we have been supporting.

In addition to stage structure and set, the collection samples had been placed in front of eyes for long time.

It was fun and exciting stage yet showing the "clothes" definitely.

Models who wear the clothes stays on the stage so that I was able to see the details.

I truly think of the brand name "theater" from entertainment and “products” from making clothes

I was soooo moved! Gave a big hand!!

Hidenobu Yasui AT JAPAN FASHION WEEK

Started collection of Hidenobu Yasui at 5:30pm at Harajyuku Quest Hall.

Models who float languidness walk on the runway.

This is his second collection to participate.

080905_hye58b95e794bb

Contrastive with languidness from Yashio and Komaba, an orthodox brand - Yasui - created the gap in the entire hall.

The theme for 09S/S collection is…

So many men, so many minds.

I see, he is proposing various senses.

                                                                                                         (After the show..)

Without the time to greet, Mr. Yasui was surrounded by interviewers.

LEP LUSS AT JAPAN FASHION WEEK

Started the installation at 2:30pm on Sept. 5th at Hillside terrace.

Avoid unnecessarily and pull our essence…

The cutting techniques which highlight the women’s beautiful style in monotone is very simple yet structured with complicated designs using various darts.

This is the designer’s first collection. The designer did not act our in order to attract attention.

There is no incongruously to display on a shop window right now, which made me “want to wear”

The installation was exactly in accordance with the concept.

garconshinois AT JAPAN FASHION WEEK

Report from Dubai Trip

Ms. Nirei and I went to Dubai last week.

This is how started the story:

An investment advisor for the President in Dubai was visiting Japan with the assist of a Japanese politician, trying to encourage the imports from Japan.

A part of encouragements, we were told to consult fashion related matters, and we talked with the advisor. After the advisor returned to Dubai, we were asked to come to Dubai to meet several developers.

Although it was 4 o’clock in the morning when we arrived, the temperature was 34, in day time, it was over50! Opposite to the outside temperature, it was about 1920 in buildings. Fogged my glasses in one second because of 100% humid index.

As you may have seen the scenery of Dubai through TV, I saw lots of buildings and those on construction. One-forth of worlds’ big cranes are in Dubai, and constructing buildings. Now we can go up to 600m high on the 800m-building but now starting to construct a 1000m building. City planning is now ongoing and expecting to expand population double.

It is wired to see those high buildings in the middle of desert. Muslim could be a one of reasons to turn down Japanese people to enter. Only two biggest Japanese construction companies are there. However, it is unlimited possibilities to export Japanese products.

My job means that I see the style of dress of Dubaians. Because of Muslim restrictions, people wear “Hijab” and  ”Chador” to cover the body. Under those clothes, men wear undershirts, women wear flamboyant dress (fashion) - I could see it from the bottom edge. Some “Chador” are decorated with spangles.

Top-ranked in Westerns are already launched. For retails, HARVEY NICOLES, SACK’S 5TH AVE, MARK & SPENCER are already launched. BARNEY’S NEW YORK is now on the way. SANRIO and MIKIMOTO are the only Japanese companies which have been launched.

I am impressed to see this country’s improvement, which emphasized Finance, Trades and Tourism. At the same time, I really felt powerless as a Japanese. Is that because we are agricultural tribes??

Westerns are aggressive to go into a new land; on the other hand, Japanese aren’t without a certain group. Even that group is no longer aggressive, no more enough power to active including the certain quality.

People who are active behind the scenes, overseas Chinese are no match for Indian. Those Indian are no match for Lebanese. Those Lebanese are no match for Jewish. There aren’t any room for us in this circle??

As same as Dubai, I hear we need some kind of connection to into Middle Eastern market. Knowing that, I think it is very lucky to have this opportunity through “the investment advisor for the President”. Also, we had a chance to talk to the director of Japanese consul at Dubai and explained about JAPAN-FPO too. He was very impressed and putting his hopes on us.

I am confident in what we are doing and what we are looking at.

Sincerely,

Okada from Nire Ups Inc.

matohu AT JAPAN FASHION WEEK

On Sept. 4th at noon at Harajyuku Quest Hall.

Matohu 2009 Spring/Summer COLLECTION “Tsuji-ga-hana”*

Through reappeared traditional dyeing techniques call Tsugi-ga-hana, my heart was being healed looking at tender colors….

I could tell that it was highly accomplished collection hearing the volume of shutter sounds from cameras.

*Tsuji-ga-hana :  one of the most important Japanese tie-dyeing created with a picture-patterned dye, drawing, and embroidery. During the 16th-17th century, Tsuji-ga-hana-zome became very popular among both men and women because of its delicate and graceful designs.

writtenafterwards AT JAPAN FASHION WEEK

At noon at PUK PUPA THEATER in Shinjyuku on Sept. 4th, installation for writtenafterwards has started. The appointed hall was one of the rare theater specializing only for puppet show, which is equipped with 85 seats. It was a full house.

The theme for the collection is “prince prince prince”

Suggesting prince-imaged-shirts and pants, which could be seen in tales or animations.

Mainly presenting men’s clothes with various colors and shiny metallic, and it was fun atmosphere.

On the small stage, entered mannequin on a pony and presented part of the collections.

Very surprised!!

Not “fashion show “, “installation” is what the designers are sticking to, the theater, the stage, the music are all get together and creating spatial art.. I felt the humor and like-tales, which are character of writtenafterwards through it. On the stage, models and mannequins wearing the works gathered at the finale.

Surrounded by many of overseas medias

everlasting sprout AT JAPAN FASHION WEEK

On Sept. 3 at noon, I attended collection for everlasting sprout at Harajyuku Quest Hall.

It was already crowed with lots of people when I entered the hall at 12 to 5.

Unlike the horrific gargpyle world from the last season, the collection started with using soft and delicated colors.

The part of the collection was displayed at outside of the hall.

Took picture of the designers surrounded by interviewers.

I could see press from overseas among the interviewers

mintdesigns AT JAPAN FASHION WEEK

The very first collection of 2009 S/S Japan Fashion Week was started by mintdesigns.   There was a large audience for the collection started at 10:30am at wood terrace in Tokyo Midtown.

The runway was coordinated with serve-as-rain-and-shine umbrellas, which will be sold from this fall. It was fun collection to see mintdesigns’ unique designs and colors.

Those items printed on thin-vinyl materials are what designers are strong in.

At last, surrounded by interviewers as you assume.
